National Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Since 1897 the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has been an advocate on behalf of the nation’s youth. The PTA works to develop a better education for America’s youth and works to foster greater parent involvement in the lives of their children, the PTA at the community, state, and national level also works to improve the general well-being of the country’s youth. Some of the programs that the PTA provides are workshops to improve youth nutrition and a career planning program in collaboration with the United States Department of Labor.
School of Social Workers Association of America (SSWAA)
The School Social Work Association of America is an organization that addresses the needs and concerns of school social workers. The organization provides a voice for school social workers through public policy, connecting social workers from across the country, and professional development. In 2005, SSWAA signed on as a supporting partner of National Runaway Prevention Month.
The Alliance for Children and Families
This organization's focus is to strengthen non-profits, specfically those that serve children and families. In order to accomplish this mission, the Alliance has established Communities of Practice groups that help share information among members regarding policies such as human resources and public policy.
With moren than 25 million members in 122 countries, including 2.6 million members and participants in 300 local associations in the U.S., the YWCA, USA mission is to eliminate racisim and empower women. YWCA, USA provide safe places for women and girls, build strong women leaders, and advocate for women's rights and civil rights in Congress. YWCA also provides crisis intervention for survivors of rape and/or domestic violence; job training, childcare, health and fitness, and much more. YWCA came aboard as a supporting partner of National Runaway Prevention Month in 2007.
